- Electrical Installation certificate
- Building notification certificate
- Check they are a registered electrician with NICEIC, NAPIT, EAS, ELECSA

Will the power need to be off ?
Yes the power will go off for the duration of the replacement which takes around 2 – 3 hours.
What do you need to test ?
When you replace a consumer unit you take responsibility for the whole electrical installation. So we test the whole house to make sure it’s safe and up to current regulations.
Can the test fail ?
Due to regulations changing it’s common for tests to fail after installing a new consumer unit. An example of a fail would be a bathroom light not IP rated correctly.
What can go wrong after installation ?
Now that your new consumer unit has an RCD. This will pick up any earth faults in the house and possibly trip. This usually tends to happen with old fridge freezers.
